Red Rainbow Festival
About this event
Red Rainbow Festival
For, By, and Of the Proletariat
Red Rainbow Festival is an idea by Thirunar Archives, marking its first edition this June.
The festival is dedicated to commemorating the life and legacy of the late queer and trans elders, and highlighting the art and theatre as a tool for advocacy and social change.
This festival celebrates transness, queerness, disability, and the vast spectrum of human diversity. It centres and honours the labour, resilience, and creative expressions of marginalized communities, particularly those from working-class backgrounds. The festival brings together art, performance, and community, creating a space rooted in solidarity, resistance, and collective joy.
This year, we are planning to organize the festival as a collective effort—joining hands with organizations and individuals who believe in human rights, equality, and social justice.
