Overcoming Body Shaming By Self Acceptance & Self Love
About this event
Growing up, many queer people heard:
"You're too feminine."
"Act like a man."
"Why do you walk like that?"
"Girls don't behave like that."
Then something strange happens. You finally find your community. And suddenly you hear:
"You're not queer enough."
"You're too queer."
"You're not masc enough."
"You're not attractive enough."
The rules change. The judgment doesn't. Many of us spend years trying to become acceptable to everyone - Family, Society, Friends, Even our own community.
And somewhere in the process, we forget to ask: "What do I think about myself?". This Pride season, let's have an honest conversation about body image, self-worth, identity, and self-acceptance. Because the goal was never to fit in. The goal was to feel free.
The Hugging Club Of India is an initiative to remove the stigma around mental illness. It is a support group where we openly talk about our mental health challenges. We meet every Wednesday and Sunday.
Let's share, listen, and grow together
